Update on Available Data in the FAA National Wildlife Strike Database, as of May 21, 2018:

The FAA National Wildlife Strike Database currently includes wildlife strike reports through May 31, 2017.

The database does not currently include wildlife strike reports submitted via "paper" 5200-7 forms (Bird / Other Wildlife Strike Report) and Mandatory Occurrence Reports (MOR) supplied by the Air Traffic Organization from September 1, 2016 through the present date. The paper 5200-7 forms and MORs are being analyzed and will be incorporated into the database shortly.

The database also includes "triggering events" that were reported online for incident dates from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017. "Triggering events" are defined as incidents where: 1) birds are ingested; 2) more than one bird is struck; 3) aircraft parts are damaged. In addition, the database includes incidents that had a negative effect on flight from January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017.

The remaining 2017 - 2018 wildlife strike reports will continue to be added to the database as they are processed.
